Preserving Paradise.
The family that owns Peter Island is committed to preserving paradise. For this reason, only 300 of the island’s 1,800 acres have been developed. In addition, a reverse osmosis water purification plant and the first windmill generators in the British Virgin Islands were installed to minimize the island’s carbon footprint, along with a gray water irrigation system and extensive recycling program. These efforts led to Peter Island receiving Best Green Hotel in the 2017 Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence.
